We hope the Point of Sale Kits have arrived safely with you – we have plenty more so just let me know if you would like more items.  You should shortly be receiving from Nielsen the now-traditional IBW T-shirts, which always go down well and is a great gesture of support from Nielsen for the campaign.

Shortly – before the end of next week – we will be sending you some additional POS items – the winner posters for the three IBW Book Award Categories (Adult, Children’s & Picture Book), plus poster promoting the Best of the Best Award for the Adult Category.  The Best of the Best Award is pitting all ten of the IBW Book Award winners since 2007 against each other with the aim of crowning the bookshop customers’ favourite as overall winner later in the summer.  It’s an opportunity to promote some really good backlist titles, alongside this year’s winners, and hopefully engage your customers in some good bookshop passionate debates.  Please do use the Best of the Best to create IBW events, during the Week and after – maybe your local book groups would participate in the vote?  There are 20 voting cards coming to you, but feel free to photocopy them if you need more.

And finally, a word about Small Business Saturday – it’s ages off (3rd December!) but they are opening their SmallBiz100 campaign, which is a chance for small businesses to put themselves forward as one of 100 small businesses who will receive extra promotion and great social media support as part of Small Business Saturday.  It’s a great way to shine a light on independent booksellers, so I’d urge you to take a look at applying – all the information is here - and the deadline to apply is 30th June.

Don’t forget to tell us ALL about your IBW events!
